This application allows you to calculate the estimated airborne asbestos fibre concentration in accordance with Guidance Note on the Membrane Filter Method for Estimating Airborne Asbestos Fibres. NOHSC 3003(2005).
It highlights results which are above the detection limit; and flags incorrect air volumes which may occur from incorrect sampling time and/or incorrect flowrate.
Whether on site or during reporting this application allows the end user to input time, flow rate, fibres and fields and hence calculate the total volume of air and fibre concentration.
If excessive air volumes are collected, this is highlighted in the application as a void sample.
The reported concentration is calculated using the reporting criteria set out in the NOHSC 3003(2005) Guidelines.
If the reported concentration is above the detection limit this is also highlighted.
This application is a useful tool to ensure that sampling is undertaken in accordance with the Guidelines.
